Porters Park Golf Club - The Golf Course
Located in 200 acres of pristine and beautiful south
Hertfordshire countryside close to Adenham and within easy
travelling distance of the major motorway network around the
M25, M1 and A1, Porters Park Golf Course is frequently cited
as one of the South of England’s most outstanding and
enjoyable courses.
This 18 hole 6044 yard parkland course (Par/SSS:70/0),
equipped with challenging tees and fairways, and surrounded
by a wonderfully varied selection of pine and deciduous
trees is played each season by many golfers. The course is
kept in magnificent condition throughout the year by the
dedicated team of green keepers and the setting for the
course could barely be more idyllic with fantastic panoramic
views of the surrounding area to enjoy all around.
It is one of the top golf courses close to North London.
Each hole is individual and memorable in its own special
way.
As some recent visitors have commented:
“Even though the first is short, it is still
tricky, then it gets harder and harder with placement,
length and accuracy all needed, streams and bunkers are
well placed to catch any errant shots. We played in May,
the rough was not high but tricky, the greens were
magnificent and with a howling wind causing chaos.”
"Lovely course would love to play it again and
again. Very hilly and quite long. I have played harder
courses but it was very challenging as it has ditch that
runs across the course. The par 3’s are tricky. The 6th
which is a par 3 is extremely hard you only have one
option which is to make sure you get your ball on the
sloping, elevated green which is guarded by bushes,
trees and some very hard bunkers. An excellent course.
Probably the best parkland course I have played."
"Played the course for the first time as one of a
small society. The course was in immaculate condition
with tees, fairways and greens all very well presented.
There are a good number of holes where the tee-shot is
very inviting with the majority of holes being very
attractive. The course, whilst challenging, is
reasonably fair."
"We Played Porters Park in Feb, when a lot of
other courses were shut. The course was in very good
condition for the time of year and the amount of rain
there had been. The layout of the course is that of a
classic old English parkland course. Accuracy of the tee
and not length is important. Excellent par three's -
again tricky but not long. I will definitely going back
to enjoy more of Porters Park in the summer."
"Found the clubhouse atmosphere very friendly and
welcoming."
"If you enjoy traditional Parkland courses this is
a must, always in great condition from tee to green.
Premium on accurate iron play most greens are elevated
so if you miss the green you will be playing a tough
little up and down. All the holes are good but it has
some great par three's."
