A parkland course pine and deciduous trees with fully equipped function rooms for weddings and business use.</p> <h3>The Clubhouse</h3> <p>Porters Park Golf Club has a clubhouse that combines the best of the traditional and the modern. There was a considerable improvement in the facilities in 1991 when over a million pounds was spent improving and extending the clubhouse. This resulted in improved catering and changing room facilities in addition to providing a spacious new bar. When undertaking the improvements care was taken to maintain the character of the clubhouse and as such the members bar and domed lounge retain their original features.<strong> </strong> </p> <h3>The Bar</h3> <p>The bar is open in accordance with the licensing laws, usually refreshments are available prior to this. In the morning tea or coffee is available with the lunch menu available from 12.00. Afternoon tea is available throughout the afternoon. Special orders can also be accommodated, provided adequate notice is provided.</p> <h3>Professional Shop </h3> <p>The Pro Shop at Porters Park is situated in the main car park to the right hand side when entering the Club entrance from Shenley Hill. As well as a full range of merchandise our resident pro David Gleeson offers lessons to all abilities and age groups. The Pro Shop is also the source of information to both Members and visitors regarding all aspects of golf.</p> <h3>Weddings and Other Functions </h3> <p>Porters Park offers two function rooms which connect with one another and have their own bar. Both rooms command spectacular views over the golf course. We can offer great versatility for parties up to 110 for seated meals and more for buffets. Also smaller groups may wish to use only one of our rooms. The lounge area has a dance floor and is suitable for bands and disco entertainment. </p> <p>Our chef, Tim McRae will be pleased to quote for your particular needs. He has a good reputation for his imaginative cuisine and his staff will make your party a day to remember.</p> <h3>Other Events </h3> <h4>Golf </h4> <blockquote> <p>Porters Park hosts several golf events during the season including the King George V Coronation Cup in August and the Mid Amateur Open in September. The Ladies Centenary Scratch Open and the David Gleeson Boys Open are both during August. Several Open competitions are held during the year and many more competitions for Members only. The Club has ample parking and excellent facilities .
